Trying to setup boringproxy for Nextcloud on selfhosting

Hi,
I think I have managed successfully installed and executing boringproxy as I have my boringproxy web admin panel running, and I can see establishment of the tunnel, but I can’t get past this error on my web browser:

“This site can’t be reached, nextcloud.<domain.name> refused to connect.
Checking the connection, Checking the proxy and the firewall”

I setup a VPS, installed boringproxy successfully with no firewalling enabled. My sole client is a VM instance created via Progmox sitting in my home network with my router allowing only 80, 443, 51820 ports to pass thru to my local VM at internal address 192.xxx.xxx.xxx. . I set the tunnel to use exclusively 51820 for in and out.

On boringproxy web Admin panel, I have tried all different TLS terminations, client port at 51820, tunnel port at random or at 51820 port. All produced same error results.

Do you have any further suggestive remedial actions for me?
Thanks!
Jay

Hi @Jordan_Wang,

Sorry for the delay,

I’m not sure what might be broken here. FWIW I’ll probably be deprecating boringproxy soon in favor of a new open source tool I’m building.

In the meantime I’d recommend using something else from the list:
